Tour “Back to the USSR” 5 days 4 nights

This tour will give you the feeling of being in the Soviet era during its last hours. Minsk will surprise you no matter what! Whether if you are an enthusiast of history, culture or a well travelled tourist. Minsk offers a variety of cultural and historical places to visit. You’ll know more about the role of the Soviet Union in the XX c and also about its influence to the modern life of Belarus.

Day 1
Arrival to Minsk.

Arrival to Minsk II airport. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the city centre.

Night at the hotel.

Day 2
“Soviet Minsk”

Guided tour of the city includes highlights such as:

  • Independence Square (former Lenin Square), the Government House of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian state University and the Catholic church of Saint Simon and Saint Helena (also known as the Red Church).
  • Oktyabrskaya Square surrounded by Palace of the Republic, House of Officers, President’s residence, the zero kilometer and central Square.
  • Victory Square and the Victory Monument (obelisk with the height of 38 meters).
  • Visit to Minsk underground and indoor marketplace “Komarovsky Market” or “Komarovka” – the largest food market in Minsk.
  • Island of Courage and Sorrow, an evocative Afghan war memorial.
  • The Belarusian State Museum dedicated to the History of the Great Patriotic War, one of the largest museums in the world dedicated to WWII.

Night at the hotel.

A visit to the Belarus State Circus or the National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre can be requested at an additional price.

Day 3
The memorial complex “Khatyn” and the Stalin Line

Transfer to Khatyn, located 60 km to the north-west of Minsk.

Visit to the Mound of Glory which rises up to 70m dedicated in honor of soldiers fallen in the largest offensive operation of 1944.

Visit to the memorial complex “Khatyn”.

Transfer to the complex “The Stalin Line”.

Visit to the permanent fire positions which are defensive emplacements of USSR borders, built in the 1920s.

At an additional price and if the mood takes you, why not try out your inner soldier skills in a shooting gallery? Experience the authentic weapons from the war time (the Kalashnikov, AK-74, Mosin rifle), drive a tank, military food-tasting and much more.

Return to Minsk. Night at the hotel.

Day 4
Visit to Belarusian farms

A trip to the countryside and farm.

The excursion is focused on local farming and you’ll have the opportunity to taste some of the best quality local products.

Return to Minsk.

A unique immersion into the Soviet era and trip to the largest state shopping malls TSUM and GUM.

Visit to the Zair Azgur’s workshop with its rich collection of Lenin’s sculptures (busts) and the busts of the political elite of the Soviet state.

Night at the hotel.

A visit to the Belarus State Circus or the National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre can be requested for an additional price.

Day 5

Transfer to the airport and departure.
