Horses are one of the main symbols of Kyrgyzstan. It is simply impossible to imagine a nomadic life without these animals. This journey will allow you to discover the culture and traditions of the nomadic Kyrgyz through horseback riding in the wild
Season: June – mid September
Flight to Bishkek. Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel
Sightseeing tour of the city with visits to:
- The Victory Square, the Oak Park with the stone sculptures
- The Manas and Ala-Too Square
- The Museum of History where you will learn about the origin of the country
- The Osh Bazaar, one of the largest markets in the city
Dinner in the restaurant with traditional Kyrgyz cuisine
Night at the hotel
Departure to the Chuy Valley
Acquaintance with the medieval city of Balasagun, that in the 9th-10th centuries used to be the capital of the Karakhanids State. Visit of the Burana Tower (9 cent.), the minaret with ancient graves and funerary monuments (also called 'balbals')
Trip to the Valley and National Park of Chong-Kemin. This eco-friendly area is a perfect place for the wildlife lovers
Walk in the open air among untouched nature and landscapes of exceptional beauty
Traditional dinner and overnight at the guest house
In the morning you will meet your English-speaking guide-instructor and start your horseback ride moving along the green pastures towards the Kalmak-Ashuu Pass (3447 meters)
Stop for a small picnic to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the entire valley
Late in the evening, the installation of tents and dinner around the fire

After breakfast the group continues its journey in the direction of Issyk-Kul lake
At about 16.00 a transfer from the arrival point to the shore of the Issyk-Kul Lake, where you will have a chance to take a swim and rest on the beach
In Kyrgyz language Issyk-Kul means 'hot lake'. Thanks to its good climate and beautiful scenery this spot has become one of the most favorite destinations for travelers

Duration of a walk: 6-7 hours
Departure to Karakol (through Grigorevskoe and Semenovskoe gorges), a magnificent place with rapid rivers, winding paths and slopes covered with pine forests
You will enjoy a pleasant stay in the heart of the wild nature
Arrival in Karakol, tour on local attractions: the Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, built in the late 19th century, and the Dungan mosque, built without a single nail, in the style of a Buddhist temple of the Chinese
In the evening you will enjoy a national Dungan dish called ashlan-fu (noodles, vegetables, eggs…)
Overnight at the guest house
Breakfast and then departure to the valley of Jeti-Oguz, also known as the 'Valley of the seven bulls'
The Jety-Oguz Valley with its waterfalls, spectacular gorges and red rocks, the most famous of which are the 'Broken heart' and the 'Seven Bulls' - is one of the most beautiful places in the country
The road towards the Barskoon (Barskon) Gorge, a small village famous for its waterfalls, the most stunning of which is the 'Tears of the Snow Leopard' cascade
Arrival to Tamga village, accommodation at the guest house
In the evening you can enjoy a bath-house (banya)

After breakfast the group continues its journey in the direction of Kochkor, a high mountain settlement with a calm and friendly atmosphere
Along the road you will get a chance to have a look at the 'Fairy Tale' canyon (Skazka) with its rocks of different forms and colours (red, ochre, yellow)
There also would be a stop in the village of Bokonbaevo, where you will meet the hunter of eagles and his hand-bird of prey
In Kochkor you will visit a felt sewing studio, where Kyrgyz women will demonstrate you the process of felt (yurts are made of this material) making
Overnight at the guest house
After breakfast the group continues its journey in the direction of the village of Kyzart, meeting with your guide-instructor and horses
Continuation of the horse ride towards the Kilimtche Jailoo Valley ( lit. 'like a carpet' in Kyrgyz language). The valley is located at an altitude of 2535 meters
You will cross the Alpine pastures of the Kilemche Valley famous for its green and flowery meadows
Arrival at a campsite and accommodation in a yurta
Type of accommodation: yurta
Duration of a walk: 6 hours
Horseback riding to the Song-Kol Lake (Song Köl), located at a height of 3000 meters in the middle of the Tian Shan Mountain Range (lit. 'heaven/celestial mountains')
Crossing the Pass of Jalgyz-Karagai (3400 meters) and descend to the lake
Meeting with a nomad family and accommodation in a yurta
A unique opportunity to get acquainted with the real Kyrgyz nomads, their way of life and traditions
