Get introduced to the crucial moment of the Second World War. You will move from St. Petersburg to Leningrad, a hero-city that stood a siege, which lasted 872 days, the deadliest siege in human history. Leningrad refused to capitulate in spite of suffering heavy losses, starvation and German fire. During the tour, you will find out more about the tragedy at the siege of Leningrad, the history of St. Petersburg and the remarkable courage of Leningraders.

Hitler expected to take Leningrad in four weeks. However, the siege lasted from September 8, 1941 to January 27, 1944, and ended in a fiasco. The victory took millions of human lives, the citizens had to stay in the besieged city without heating, electricity and food. Nonetheless, the city defended itself, the one and only road was built across the iced over Ladoga Lake, the road was the only way to evacuate citizens and get food. The blockade inspired people to conquer fascism.

During the tour, you will see video and audio records, the map of the siege, military equipment, maybe you will meet the participants of the siege (sometimes they visit the museum).

Discover a complicated chapter of the St. Petersburg history; think over the heroism and the nerve of Leningrad citizens.
