Combined Moscow - Uzbekistan - St. Petersburg tour for 14 days, 13 nights

This private Uzbekistan tour with visits to Moscow and St. Petersburg is the best way to discover the two largest cities of Russia along with the treasures of the caravan cities of the Great Silk Road with their rich historical and cultural heritage.

Day 1
Flight to Moscow

Flight to Moscow with the Aeroflot company. Arrival, transfer and hotel accommodation in the city center. Night at a hotel.

Day 2
First look at the 'Red Capital'.

Sightseeing walking tour, during which you will see, The Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, the Annunciation Cathedral, the Assumption Cathedral, the Church of Deposition of the Robe, Red Square and the shopping galleries of GUM. A stroll through Manezhnaya Square and Alexander Garden. The famous Bolshoi Theatre and Metropol Hotel in the Art Nouveau style.

Take a pleasant walk through the Old Arbat, a picturesque pedestrian street with many restaurants and souvenir shops. Night at a hotel.

Day 3
The State Tretyakov Gallery and Soviet Moscow.

Zamoskvorechye, one of the oldest Moscow districts. Visit to the Tretyakov Art Gallery, a museum with one of the richest collections of paintings, sculptures and icons in the world. Evening transfer to the airport and flight to Tashkent via Aeroflot.

Day 4
Explore the capital of Uzbekistan

Arrival in Tashkent, pickup and transfer to a hotel. A full-day tour in the capital of Uzbekistan: including the museum of applied arts, the Khast Imam Square (restored in 2007) and the Friday Mosque with the ancient Koran of the VII century. Additionally you will see the Kukeldash Madrasah (XVI century) which is one of the largest madrasahs in Central Asia. A sightseeing city tour

In the evening, transfer to Tashkent railway station to board the Express train and depart to Bukhara (dep. 18:50/ar. 22:35). Arrival in Bukhara, transfer and hotel check-in. Night at a hotel.

Day 5
The Holy city of Bukhara

A full-day walking tour of the ancient city of Bukhara. Take in Poi Kalan Sqaure with its Kalyan minaret of the XI century, see the Trading domes and The Tim Abdulla Khan covered bazaar. Additionally you will see the Magok-i-Attari Mosque, the ancient Zoroastrian Temple, the Lyab-i Hauz (translated meaning ‘by the pond’), the Architectural Ensemble, the Samonid Mausoleum and Ismail's Tomb, the Bolo House Mosque, the Ark of Bukhara (former fortified residence of the emirs) and also the Chor Minor Madrasah. Night at a hotel.

Day 6
Free day

A free day, you can explore the city of Samarkand on your own or do some shopping. Night at a hotel.

Day 7
From Bukhara to Samarkand

Trip to Samarkand (about 4 hours). Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Free time in the afternoon. Night at a hotel.

Day 8
Samarkand Timurid

Full day tour of Samarkand. The program features The famous Registan Square with three madrasahs and the Golden Mosque, the Gur Emir Mausoleum (also known as the Tomb of Tamerlane), the Bibi-Khanym Mosque (XIV-XV cent, take a stroll through the picturesque Siyob Bazaarr, the Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis, the pearl of Samarkand architecture, the remains of the Ulugh Beg Observatory. Night at a hotel.

Day 9
Shakhrisabz, hometown of Tamerlane

Departure to Shakhrisabz through Takhta-Karacha Pass (1700m). Arrival and visits to:

The magnificent ruins of the White Palaceor Aqsaray Palace, the Kok-Gumbaz Mosque ('Blue Dome'), the Mausoleum of Shamsiddin Kulala, a sufi and a spiritual master and the father of Tamerlane, the Tamerlane's Tomb and the grave of his eldest and beloved son Timur. Return to Samarkand. Night at a hotel.

Day 10
Free day

Free day, you can explore the surroundings on your own or do some shopping. Night at a hotel.

Day 11
St. Petersburg, the 'Venice Of The North'

The overnight transfer to the airport and flight to St. Petersburg via Aeroflot (on Mondays and Fridays). Checking in at a hotel or a local resident's place (optional). A sightseeing tour of St. Petersburg, also known as the 'Venice of the North'. During the tour you will see Nevsky prospect, the most famous 'artery' of the city, the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and Kazan Cathedral with its columns in neoclassical style. Also you will see Palace Square, The Smolny Cathedral, The Admiralty building and the University Quarter. In addition you will see the Peter and Paul Fortress and Peter and Paul Cathedral with the tomb of the Romanov family.

Night at a hotel.

Day 12
The Hermitage

Visit to the State Hermitage Museum, one of the three largest museums in the world, along with the British Museum in London and the Louvre in Paris. Tens of thousands of works are exhibited here in approx. 1000 halls. Night at a hotel in Saint-Petersburg.

Day 13
Palaces and Royal residences of Russia

From May to mid-October: Departure to Peterhof to visit the Lower Park with its numerous fountains, the most famous of which are the Samson Fountain and the Grand Cascade.

From late October to April: A trip to Pushkin, including a visit to the luxurious Catherine Palace with its amber room and French and English gardens with numerous pavilions. Night at a hotel in Saint-Petersburg.
